Monique van Haarst, certified horse riding instructor with over 25 years of professional
horse riding, coaching and horsemanship experience on an international level.
Her passion and dedication for horses are like a thread through her life.

Born in an
equestrian family and in the horse producing capital of the world, Holland, she devoted her
life to the equestrian sport and mastered the skills of caring, training and managing these
animals. She competed successfully up to international level in to different disciplines
(dressage, jumping, eventing, polo).
At the day she was born, her grandparents gifted Monique her first pony, Mopsie. Mopsie
was a skewbald Shetland pony, born on the same day as Monique. Her grandparents are the
founders of a large and successful riding school De Hazelhorst in Den Ham, which still runs in
the family.

That is where Monique gained her first knowledge and skills about riding,
training, coaching, breeding and management.
Already at a young age Monique promoted from the ponies to the horses. Having their own
breeding program, she managed to break in and produced countless young horses till
various levels.

Hosting summercamps for children from all over the world started Monique’s passion of
spreading her expertise worldwide.
Being raised in Holland where the knowledge is countless and the equestrian world is a
lifestyle, Monique claims to have been lucky enough to have horses in her backyard and
have the education on her doorstep. Touched by different nationalities and the love for
traveling, Monique choose to expand her expertise and share her passion in countries where the equestrian world is not so developed as in Europe.
The challenge is to make the sport accessible for everyone who wants to experience the
magic of this animal and to bring the equestrian sport to another level.
A strong communicator, coupled with her dynamic and passionate aura, Monique is a true
horse lover. She connects and communicates with horses and people on every level in the
equestrian world.

As a traveling individual, Monique extensive global travels for work to open up her horizon
on the equestrian and polo world and brings her to exciting destinations, while living the
culture of the locations like a local. After spreading her wings and formally being based in
Kuwait as a Stable manager, Riding Instructor and Horse trainer, she is currently based in
Mumbai, India.
